Jonny Lee Miller as Graeme Obree

Clips from the 2006 movie "The Flying Scotsman" based on the autobiography of Scottish cycling hero Graeme Obree. In these three clips Graeme makes his first attempt to surpass the world hour velodrome record held at the time for nine years by Francesco Moser at the Vikingskipet velodrome in Hamar, Norway. He failed his first attempt, spent most of that night drinking water and stretching but getting little sleep. The next morning, with little time left to make a second and final attempt Graeme persevered and set a new record of 51.596 kilometers.
