GOP does well in some blue states in Governors. Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Hawaii, California deap blue states with GOP Governors at that time all winning in bad GOP years. Arkansas votes GOP for Federal Demo for state. American people are smart and vote for state election on state issue and Federal in Federal issues. The GOP needs to expand its Geography by having difference to gain more Senate and Governor seats. Democrats did well with party differences

She endorsed the Dem because she had a long history of working with him for the benefit of the people in the district. The conservative "independent" had no record of service in the district. The Rep knew the Dem and knew he has the best interests of the district in mind with his positions and efforts. Made the decision kinda easy for her.

In spite of the neocon media spin, this has been the trend for the last several years. People forget that McCain won the GOP nomination by running as a moderate Republican. He was actually beating Obama in the polls until he chose Palin as his VP. The crazies on the Far Right are never going to win a fair election---Bush Junior had to steal several of them himself!
