Ann Boleyn (lead singer of Hellion/ who also sang in Detente after the death of Dawn Crosby and founder of New Renaissance Records) shares her opinion about 2010 and more.
@wickedworld1999 I know its weird to respond 10 months later, but sadly EVERY decade suffers immense losses....I mean the only way to not feel bad about musical losses is to look at things in 2-3 year chunkc and even then lose too many.....this may sound gay to alot of people but eating better?taking better care of ourselves will keep us ALL around longer...keep jamming!!!!!!
You should get together and form a band with somebody like Yngwie Malmsteen or the guys from Dio or Black Sabbath. Your lyrics, voice, and music is sadly missing. I am sick of singers that have nothing to say and do nothing but scream.
Thank you Ann! I know about your work since little but I already carry you in mi heart. People like you show us what art, music and metal are about. This lessons we can´t forget anymore. Dètente is great, hope to hear new things from you soon...
The past decade has been a nightmare for Metal..Paul Baloff(Exodus), Chuck Schuldiner (Death), Quorthon (Bathory), Chris witchhunter(Sodom), Doc(Vader), Vitek (Decapitated), and especially Dio... half those listed had not even turned 40 yet that is effed up enough despite all of them being Metal legends. I heard King Diamond had back surgery but not anything about 3 heart attacks in November... ugh. I hope 2011 brings better times. I am gonna check out At War.. thanks for posting this. Hail Ann!
Wow, I wish them nothing but the best. Anyone who is into metal who hasn't heard/heard of Mercyful Fate/King Diamond then......yeah, I have no words for. Admittedly, I'm not familiar with At War's music though I've HEARD the name. I'm definitely gonna get around to checking out their stuff. Detente is great though, and also bands such as Indestroy and Wehrmacht.
