As far as I know, there are less then 10 human powered airships in the World.

As you watch this video and you may be interested by Human Powered Flight, I would like to let you know that Stephane Rousson will finally try to be the first man to cross the Channel with a Human Powered Airship. He will have several trial windows between June 4th and 20th, 2008. He will start from Lydd (England) and arrive in Wissant (France, Pas-de-Calais), which is located 55 km from Lydd. Good luck, Stéphane !

Hi, I see it is heavier than air, how hard is it to get it to go up?
A group of people including myself are hoping to make an airship, but we are thinking of using hot air, as it costs a lot less than helium, and you don't have to store the blimp, just let the air out.

FYI, Stephane Rousson inflates its airship so they weight together only one kilogram. If he does not pedal (and there is no upwind), they will go down slowly.

Stephane Rousson will try to cross the Atlantic Ocean. I guess when he will acheive that he will help others to make their own HPV balloon or maybe rent or sell them.
