Libertarians believe that it is not the role of the government to regulate personal choice.
WWW.MPP.ORG About the Marijuana Policy Project
Someone is arrested for a marijuana offense every 36 seconds.
89% of these are for marijuana possession — not for sale or manufacture.
In the U.S., there are more arrests for marijuana possession each year than for all violent crimes combined.
Marijuana prohibition has failed. It's time for a new approach, and MPP is leading the way. Since our founding in 1995, we've been making real progress in reforming U.S. marijuana laws, by:
... lobbying for legislation and running ballot initiative campaigns to allow seriously ill patients to use medical marijuana with their doctors recommendations
... lobbying for legislation and sponsoring ballot initiatives to replace marijuana prohibition with a sensible system of regulation
... garnering widespread media coverage of the need to change marijuana policies
... lobbying Congress to reduce the White House drug czars budget for his deceptive ad campaigns
... building coalitions of supportive individuals and organizations to advocate on behalf of marijuana policy reform
... and much more.

Let me just remind you that, those were not Rob's words, it was Mark Selzer(the libertarian) who said it.

To elaborate...
My homelessness, was due to a complete misunderstanding, focused on my experimentation of marijuana. Now I know of alternative medicine, which I choose not to take, because I can not afford it. My experimentation has led me to living without anything as a supplement to the medicine.
Though, it was not for medicine, that I experimented, it was the result of that experimentation which made me realize it was a medicine for me. (Chemically, in moderation, it surpasses Ritalin.)

I am not with MPP, but I would imagine that a portion of homeless individuals would be reduced.
I, personally, was homeless as a teen, because I had experimented with weed. I have also met many individuals who were homeless, due to prosecution, which led to loss of job and an inability to pay rent from the prosecution. (Prior to prosecution, most were responsible and casual users. But not all were.)
I started smoking as a teen, because it was the only safe high. (I fear OD death.) LOL.

Would MPP go so far as to say that terminating Marijuana Prohibition would reduce homelessness in the U.S.?
