Bubbles are shot out of the bubble inflateables as pedestrians pass leave the subway station.
Artists Jake Lee-High, Jerel Dye, Sean O'Brien, and Fred Wolflink will redefine the AXIOM gallery as an interactive monument. The gallery space will be transformed into a biological cell that feeds off the electromagnetic fields of passing MBTA trains. Viewers' interactions with the interior and exterior of the gallery space will reshape conditions within the cell while draining the cell's energy. Pedestrians, as both variable and viewer, will affect the cell's functions through the use of sensors, cameras, video, lighting, motors, and other electronic instruments. By taking advantage of the unique location of the AXIOM gallery and through the analysis of people's daily commutes, the gallery space will engage the public and enrich their transit routines.
