ISMAR 2009 video.
This work extends the PTAMM system to allow multiple objects to be recognized and localized within multiple maps. As the user explores, the system automatically recognizes, reconstructs and localizes known objects. AR relating to the objects is shown on the user's display.
In this video three maps are made around a gallery in the Ashmolean museum. Paintings are automatically recognized and labelled.

can I use this technique to solve my jigsaw puzzle? There are some pieces I can't position! If I make a "map" of the picture represented by the puzzle and take snapshots of missing pieces, will the software show where the pieces should be positioned? I've a Windows based PC and a symbian 3rd based phone.

@nevyn You can :) download PTAMM. Make a map of a area and then add the AR objects (outline, text etc) to scale using the software. Check it out its awesome.
