Induction Middletown NJ of Lions ... Heart, Gambler, Captain

Past President, Chaplain and Life Member of the Middletown Lions Club Inducts three residents of Middletown Township into the Middletown Lions Club. Inducted were (in alphabetical order):
Retired NJ Assemblyman, Senator and US Navy Captain of the USS New Jersey, Joseph Azzolina, "LION CAPTAIN," sponsored by Lion Al Siano. Tom Guarino, "LION GAMBLER," sponsored by Lion Beverly Bova Scarano, Richard Stryker, "LION HEART," sponsored by his Sister Lion Kathleen Davies.

Lion Tom Guarino, named at induction "Lion Gambler" explained that he will be helping the Middletown Lions with fund raising. The club will hold some legalized games of chance events in support of fund raising for the blind and Lions Charities where and as permitted uder prevailing law.

Lion Richard Stryker "Lion Heart" a will join is very active sister Lion Kathy Davies in serving as a Lion. There was a supportive chuckle when Rich's nick name "Lion Heart" was read. The group Rich has joined certainly love's Middletown and will enjoy serving with him.

Joe Azzolina explained with pride that he had joined his home town club The Highlands Lions Club, when he returned home from the Korean War. At the time he recalls more than 50 members. He became the President of the Highlands Club and served as Zone Chair and Region Chair in the years that followed. Joe is proud to be back in as a Lion in his hometown for more than 50 years - Middletown where Joe is known as a very caring and giving citizen.
