what type of toggle switch did you use.. an on/on an on/off/on or an on/off.. I was going to do this with an on/off/on toggle switch but had major alarm bells when i saw my pin configuration was (1) live (2) earth "middle" and (3) live figured my xbox would fry.. Could you clarify this please

4 is a good 12V supply!

I got my xbox power supply to run at 17.7 volts just by hooking a car amp up to it and playing it for a few days XD

this broke my xbox. i did everything correctly and when i changed it fron 12v to 5v

@goofywhiz you probably either screwed the board back to the chasis to tight or you screwed up the 12volt power supply

hey i got the 0031 code from doing this to one of my xboxs but i didnt connect the wire to the under side i did it to the top to one of those black chips by the memory card slot on the left and while it was hooked up it touched the other chip and gave me that code do u no how to fix it???

not really you shorted somthing out ive got one of those before and that was the last one i had to chunk the board and get a new one

yep, and save yourself from having to buy a max fan cus they are a bitch to find everyone is out of stock and have been since before november last year

good tutorial. quick question though.......can i get the 12v from teh dvd cable? i've seen the 12v mod with the dvd cable but not with a toggle, cuz im planning of using the psu for a 120mm case fan

yea you can use the dvd cable but im not sure wich wire it is but it can be done
