@TheTwollocks ..by none other than Gerry Adams (they were great friends) The Irish spread throughout the globe for sure but not with an army or navy,not with aggressive intentions or a lust for wealth & domination.The same cannot be said for the British,but again this is where we differ-U *think* thats ok, I know its not. As it was ruled maily by the W.A.S.P.S we fared no better than back home. Our options were similar- join up or get back on the boat,which explains why so many Irish joined the US military. Lets put this notion of Irish compliance to rest here. Joining the British army was seen by many as the best option. They lived in a time where u couldnt get a job,earn a reasonable pay,own ur own land even speak ur own language. The military offered the poorest a way out.
