***edit I bought a new set of Fender vintage noiseless, that comes with pots and everything, and put them into another Ash Strat, with all Fender parts. Although they sound good, they are nothing like these. The pickups in the deluxe are obviously different compared to the new vintage deluxe sets. I think they are wound hotter in this deluxe. They also used a superswitch in this deluxe. The pot values are the same though. The new set are still dead quiet, and sound great clean...but they are different. *** Comparing Fender Vintage Noiseless Pickups to Fender SCN (Samarium Cobalt Noiseless). Played through my Marshall DSL. Rhythm is neck+middle on crunch channel. Lead is neck on Ultra Gain Channel. When the lead is played, it is played to the opposite clean pickup. It sounded really great until it transferred to Youtube and then it developed a phase problem. I have it recorded in stereo and can send you an MP3 if you are really interested.

  • The SCN pickups sound hotter to me. Vintage sounds better suited for clean stuff.

  • @monkymonk6

That's how I hear it too. But add the Fender (Clapton) mid-boost kit to the Vintage noiseless set and WOW...

  • @poeman333

    Totally agree with that statement!

  • ive got a mexi 50s strat with vintage noiseless it used to have the SCN,the vintage are alot smoother and less glassy weird overtones to my ear, upgraded to add a TBX tone control now its just a really great sounding GTR

  • @fraterlucifer888 cool...I'm actually going to try them with the Fender mid boost kit.

  • The Noiseless seems to be much more lower(got more bass) than SCN. What is the wood of the guitar loaded with SCN ??

I got a strat with ash body last year and loaded with Texas Special. It turns to one piece of shit. Too bright, and now I don t know where to put the blame ... on the pickup or on the ash body.

  • @blackmorejimi

Both bodies are Ash. These will sound completely different that the Texas Specials. Try changing the volume pot to a lower value if you think they are too bright. I am finding out that the noiseless on my Am Dluxe are different than the noiseless sets you buy separately.

  • I play clean 90% of the time, so the Noiseless sound right to me. My 98 Deluxe Strat have the Noiseless. I play through a Fender Blues Deluxe. Yeah Baby.....
