I don't have any science degrees, my post secondary education was in college accounting and business courses, but I could figure out the basics about evolution when I was in junior high school. Why do so many people find it such a difficult concept?

I still ask myself the same question all the time. My conclusion so far is that "believe" actually means "obey." It's not so much that they are incapable of understanding it, but that their "god" demands that they behave as though it's false.

@8698gil bechose people have tedency of searching "meaning" behind things. its hard to human think in purely natural manner so they have to antropomofize things. so that they had someone to blame. this is why people hate when i tell them there is no Intent behind it, its like i have killed their scapegoat or thier teddy bear. humans are afraid of nature, and cant take the idea that human is not in command, so they pretend there is human that is, this is why gods are invented.

@GreatBigBore I've also thought that religious people are afraid that if they actually learn the facts of evolution, they might be forced to give it credibility, which would go against their ingrained belief system. So they deliberately choose not to learn about it.

I actually used to have evangelism tracks from Ray when I was a Christian. It's mind bending that to have a relationship with Jesus you have to be dishonest, and it's sad. I don't understand how Ray can walk around with his pants on fire and never recognize his ass is getting burned.
