  • One celebrates education and common sense the other does not.

  • @ogirv101 LOL ! Yes! If a person is in jail he is bad ! LOL !

  • @ogirv101 "Atheism has no causation in higher education, and education has no effect on religious belief." This is as much a claim as the one you are refuting. It would be sufficient enough to cast doubt on the interpretation of your opponent and then assert the argument invalid but this statement is itself requires justification.

Do you honestly think that atheism has no influence on pursuit of higher education? A man who does not accept God as an explanation has to search further the answers.

  • On Dennet, I accidently confused him for Diderot, I really just skim read through your comments, sorry for the mistake. It was diderot who was influential in the enlightenment and started the encyclepedia.

  • It's not a line of thinking, it's a rule of thinking. You obviously are uneducated and don't understand social demographics and you try to interpret them the way you wishfully want to.

Your line of thinkign is ignroant and hypocritical, for example 1 in 9 black men in the ages 25-29 are black, while this same age group in whites is 1 in 59! Does that mean being Black is the causation of going to jail, now just think rationally and scientifically, is what you're saying right?

  • If you're convinced by that line of thinking you are welcome to it. Again, my friend says you're wrong; end of story!

So when was Dennet an apologist, liar!?

  • First of all Atheists make only 2% of the population, and what you said about jail cells means nothing. So because a person is in jail they're bad? MLK was in jail, I'm guessing he was bad, also those statistics are misnomers, Religion is correlation not causation. Also, the studies on higher education and disbelief are flawed, you forget to see the causation and not the correlation, Atheism has no causation in higher education, and education has no effect on religious belief.

  • Really? If true, I dont see how its ironic. If not for strong family and regional religious indoctrination of children and others I think more people than do would abandon superstitious beliefs. Atheist or agnostic: 16% US gen pop and only 3% US prison pop. The higher ones educational attainment the less likely they are to believe in a god.

I dont know much about Dennet aside from his work in philosophy and Cognitive Science. What did he write and when was he was an apologist?

  • I know who D. Dennet is, ironically he was an apolgeticist and fervent Christian.

  • Well my favorite philosopher D. Dennet says his friend Lucile says youre wrong and that she is always right. So there!
