@fallschirmjager0000 There was never any Poles in the Waffen SS, in the Wehrmacht but not in the SS! A 1943 decree prohibited Poles from joining the Waffen SS.

@giuseppeRraimondo It was actually what happened. The element of surprise and they ran away too because both German artillery and American artillery was called in and the Germans were literally in the impact zone, so instead of staying and getting blasted to pieces, they tried to get out.

As I said, no arguments that overall, the German land forces were superior in terms of quality as a combat unit, but the same characteristics that enabled that, are exactly what led to the total ruin of their country, the slaughter of millions of their servicemen and civilians, and a national legacy that is rightly recalled with shame.
As for BOB, the series doesn't suggest that Allied troops were all better, it's simply the story of one (mostly) successful unit.
