the song may sound a little diffrent than the song on the soundtrack.because i got the audio from the end credits of the movie so it sounds diffrent but its still the song

Lyrics

Did you think that your feet had been bound
By what gravity brings to the ground?
Did you feel you were tricked
By the future you picked?
Well, come on down

All those rules dont apply
When youre high in the sky
So, come on down
Come on down

Were coming down to the ground
Theres no better place to go
Weve got snow up on the mountains
Weve got rivers down below

Were coming down to the ground
We hear the birds sing in the trees
And the land will be looked after
We send the seeds out in the breeze

Did you think youd escaped from routine
By changing the script and the scene?
Despite all you made of it
Youre always afraid
Of the change

Youve got a lot on your chest
Well, you can come as my guest
So come on down
Come on down

Were coming down to the ground
Theres no better place to go
Weve got snow up on the mountains
Weve got rivers down below

Were coming down to the ground
We hear the birds sing in the trees
And the land will be looked after
We send the seeds out in the breeze

Like the fish in the ocean
We felt at home in the sea
We learned to live off the good land
Learned to climb up a tree
Then we got up on two legs
But we wanted to fly
When we messed up our homeland
We set sail for the sky

Were coming down to the ground
Theres no better place to go
Weve got snow up on the mountains
Weve got rivers down below

Were coming down to the ground
We hear the birds sing in the trees
And the land will be looked after
We send the seeds out in the breeze

Were coming down
Coming down to Earth
Like babies at birth
Coming down to Earth
Were gonna find new priorities
These are extraordinary qualities

Were coming down to the ground
Theres no better place to go
Weve got snow up on the mountains
Weve got rivers down below

Were coming down to the ground
We hear the birds sing in the trees
And the land will be looked after
We send the seeds out in the breeze

Were coming down to the ground
Theres no better place to go
Weve got snow up on the mountains
Weve got rivers down below

Were coming down to the ground
We hear the birds sing in the trees
And the land will be looked after
We send the seeds out in the breeze

Were gonna find new priorities
These are extraordinary qualities

  • »Down To Earth« manages to crack my emotional firewall again and again, when hardly anything else can anymore. It's addicting indeed.

  • I love the song...

    sooooo damn good

    great lyrics

    awersome Melody!

  • Holy crap this doesn't sound like Peter Gabriel! I used to be a huge fan of his, but when I heard this at the theater, I would have never guessed it was him!

This is such a good song. Man's got talent.

  • This song is simply amazing. I love it, it`s so addicting. im just enchanted by it when i listen to it.

  • wall-e was a great movie because when humanity failed, we didnt need some inexplicable saviour

we didnt need the one, we didnt need the jedi master, we didnt need someone whos life was utterly uprooted pulverized and burned

we needed someone who was who they were

we didnt need wall-e to be more

    we just needed wall-e

  • Remember kids, Don't litter!

  • Beautiful song.

  • @ShaDHP23 You and I share that talent.

  • It took me 2 years to get around to watching this movie. I'm glad I did; it was a whole lot better than it looked. Its message is what I stand by. I wish people would take the theme of the song & movie more seriously. The world's in a crisis. While a bunch are making a movement, there are still those who aren't really thinking about their actions; they're not making it easy for those who are trying to make a change... And I always loved Peter Gabriel's music. Great song. Great movie.
