@AlquimistEd Because the X-men movies, and in particular the wolverine aspect of them, were incredibly popular. This means that people who liked the first movies would have gone and seen Origins just on the basis of the original three movies. People are always saying Superhero movies suck.

My point, anyway, is that if he saw Origins, he would have at least an idea who Deadpool is. With Origins being the most widely seen media to feature Deadpool. Albeit a really crappy take on Deadpool.
