Thank you for the explenation about the situation, I haven't this DVD, but I will buy it. about Luciano. yes he cheated in his real life, but I don't think about that when he play the role of the betrayed man, I just look at him and I totally melt, just all.

Liva, in one part you right I reallly associate Pavarotti to Canio and I feel for him his suffering for his wife's betrayal, but from the other hand if the wife or husband choose  to betray with her/his lover at least don't laugh to the suffering or she hate so much her husband?!

You know, I take this role a bit ironic for Pav. He plays the betrayed one (seems very sad and really looks betrayed), but in the real life wasn't he the one who cheated? So I don't really get into the impersonating him with Canio, it's just a play and a very good one. His singing is always fantastic. And Leoncavallo's music is genial.

At this point of the plot, Canio doesn't yet know about the betrayal of his wife. He's saying to the others not to laugh at it, because somebody suspected an affair between Tonio and Nedda, which never happened. He's saying, that in the real life he wouldn't forgive her, but in the play of the clowns it would be funny. He suggests nobody to joke about his relationship with wife. And Nedda is not laughing, she's just interpreting the play they'll show in the evening. She didn't hate Canio.

Don't associate Pavarotti to Canio too much. I believe if that would be Carreras or Tucker singing Canio, maybe you would feel for Nedda as well. It's still a love story between Nedda and Silvio. Thanks for comment!

Luciano Pavarotti is act very well here, and Nedda such a bitch, she laughing behind her husband back, but getting worried when she realized that he is not joking. Thank you Liva.
