One Love Global at Level II in Lansing, Michigan, in May 2010 was the first in a series of community-based events aimed at ending violence in the community, especially gun violence among young people. Organized by Rina Risper, publisher of The New Citizens Press, and Angela Austin, owner of One Love Global, the event focused on healing. In this segment, youth violence prevention specialist Hakim Crampton of H.A.P.E. (Helping All People Excel) discusses youth violence, including his experience in prison for 15 years for a murder he did not commit. Video by Bonnie Bucqueroux for Lansing Online News.
Great video, I have to stand behind anyone that understands that the youth need the support from us adults to navigate through life with hope and purpose. Keep making a difference, Hakim. You are definitely a leader and I can only believe that your presence in the community will become even greater. Thanks for being a great role model.
