continued: If I am correct, I believe that the 21 degrees should be SUBTRACTED from any intended bearing. Adding declination degrees is done when this declination is west. The instruction at the bottom of the map is for going from magnetic bearings to grid bearings or visa versa regardless of the declination.

Thanks for posting your video series on land navigation. I have learned a great deal from them. In your declination video I believe there is a mistake. In this video the map you are using is showing an easting declination of 21 degrees. You stated that you would ADD these degrees to your intended bearing. You then referred to the instruction at the bottom of the map to add.

@2002flstci Yeah, I'm not surprised. Will try to review it more and maybe add a comment to the video.
I am math-bad, so "add" to mean meant "account for in the appropriate direction." I do it all with geometry (drawing lines and aligning stuff to it). But of course not everyone is, so I should fix that.

@shoobe01 east is least (subtract) west is best (add)

@Buzzcutx Finally got around to this, and remembered how to add comments over the video. Stole your mnemonic. I am bad at those, so never remember them myself, and have to borrow when others tell me anyway.
Thanks for the pointer. Bad instruction is a terrible thing.
