The haka isn't really about the words, its more like they are using the words as symbols, really it has more to do with their spirit.

actually in this one they talk about a hairy man who will rise up the ladder and then the sun shines.
and the whole ka mate thing is I DIE I DIE. so not really scary if they were saying it in english :)

only some haka are for welcoming... this haka is used as a challenge
