A group of zero-emission vehicles have completed a 13-day, U.S. cross-country road trip in which they used no gasoline. Nine auto manufacturers participated in the nearly 4,300 mile tour which started Aug. 11 in Portland, ME and ended in Los Angeles. Hyundai, one of the project's participants, reports its two Tucson Fuel Cell Elective Vehicles (FCEVs) recorded 185 miles per refueling and achieved top speeds of 95 miles-per-hour during the tour. Other participants to successfully complete the trip include BMW, Daimler, General Motors, Honda, Nissan, Toyota and Volkswagen. Available multimedia material includes a narrated package of the Hydrogen Road Tour 2008, including footage of the Tucson Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle, and still images.
