this was on an old account. i changed the name, no more violin vs. guitar. stupid argument. its the musician..not the instrument. i like everyone from mike portnoy on drums, to jeff beck on guitar, to itzhak perlman on violin. i could care less about their instrument, i wanna hear the artist.

@PatrickContreras and @darterus, im so sorry i was drunk that day, and my brain was so totally messed up, my apologies.
-
@PatrickContreras PLEASE DON'T PULL IT!

2nd part of response to baseballguy456:
- Itzhak perlman, Sarah Chang, Regina Carter, Vanessa Mae, Andre Rieu(who I dislike!) are all famous and can sell tix anywhere in the world. Not top 40 radio famous in America of that's what u mean by famous.
bands don't have guitar solos anymore? - tell that to avenged sevenfold, mars vola, Derek Trucks Band, muse, Jack White, Robert Randolph, buckethead, John Mayer.. i can go on and on

im about to pull this video. I put this up years ago on a diff account. it's kind of stupid to even have this argument. As I've gotten older and sliiiightly more wiser I've learned two things.
1. everyone has their preferences
2. it's the musician, not the instrument
and @baseballguitarguy456 - that was possibly in my 6 years of being on YouTube the most misinformed comment Ive ever seen. some thoughts for you:
-beethoven wasn't a violinist.
- Vanessa Mae, Itzhak Perlman. Sarah Chang, Reg

Violin is the Greatest

@Symeon94 and you want to impress someone with a pentatonic scale? Give me a break. Pentatonic scales are so simple for any average classical musician.
@dartherus: Although I agree that the violin is better than the electric guitar (but that's my personal opinion), the violin is not the king of the instruments in classical music. That would be the piano. If you see, piano can be played in solo and never really needs a background instrument, unlike the violin, which can't play as many melodical voices as the piano even though it can be played solo as well.

For the ones denying that violin is FAR more complex, check a very scientific approach... google "Why is the violin so hard to play" and read the article...
BTW, complexity is not useless, it gives you far more potential of being musically expressive than any more 'linear' instrument like guitar or piano.... that's why the violin is the king of the instruments in classical music....
