Another visual comparison - this time Sega Extreme Sports (Dreamcast) and Amped 3 (360).

  • SEGA WINNER

  • very good comparison, the Dreamcast had very advanced graphics for a1998 sistem, from 1998 to 2001it was the most powerfull sistem out there, onlly on 2001 the Xbox and the Gamecube came with better graphics, but not by much, if the Dreamcast had not ended so early it could have evolved even more.

the true power of the Dreamcast is almost capable of the same graphics that the Gamecube and the Xbox can do.

    Great video and 5 stars.

  • @kinkinkijkin come on man, as much as i love the DC theres not a chance it is more powerful than the xbox

  • @elementalsorcerer113 Actually final point, is that Dreamcast is surprisingly up to date for its generation in spite being first, and could survive ports from later systems reduced to 30fps from 60fps original system with better middleware than first gen Kamui, or worse, WinCE. But the death came early, so we hardly have direct comparisons, except perhaps Dead or Alive 2 where DC wins. Silent Hill 4, even with its 20kpoly protagonist, would have been possible on DC too.

  • @elementalsorcerer113 @elementalsorcerer113 On the one hand, PS2 is faster, and in peak should be able to do even higher figures. On the other, 3 Mio vertices per s work easily on Dreamcast with half the CPU and GPU free each, can trivially show you. Yet, on my codebase, some problems would need to be solved to hit 5 Mio vertices per s. Usualy there are twice as many faces as verts, and hardly any PS2 game actually uses more than 3 Mio polys per s.

  • @waddlerobloxxxx The Shenmue games pushed the Dreamcast a lot further than SA2 did, imo.

  • @Calengela To compare the same game with differents signals(vga vs rgb/composite) is unfair, man.

  • @dinizgames Thats not true,SSX was a firstgen ps2 game, but still had better snow effects and char models(especially around the joints) than sega extreme sports. Its weird that people still are unable to admit that ps2 had better graphics.Ps2 tops more than 10 million pps, most dc games are lower than 2.I mean I played a lot of dc games(chu chu rocket, space channel, phantasy star online, langrisser) and had never seen anything that look as good as Rachet and Clanck or DevilMayCry :/

  • if ea weren't dickheads they would've ported ssx to dc

  • Dreamcast has better textures, as always. Eat shit xbox fanboys
