ummm, it wasn't "created" on july 4th. it was COMPOSED on christmas day (as stated in Sousa's biography "Marching Along".

As a composer, (and idk if this was the same with him) but I have just ideas of pieces and name then after i write them. So you may be true, but i'm not Sousa, so idk.
