What a gas. You sound like you are trying to over intellectualize this release. Until you put up a cover of you playing one of the songs...I think you might want to scale back a bit on your pseudo-intelligence.

The song off this album "sedatives" i thought was one of the most beautiful songs i've heard yet by jesu.

5/10?!? I think this album is incredibly incredible. Jesu always captures the atmosphere they want to create, and Ascension has one of the most nostalgic sounds I've ever come across. although the doomy riffs that we've come to know and love from jesu aren't present in this installation, it's still trademark jesu. Same atmosphere, different riff.

wow i never thought i would say this but you are 100% RIGHT!!!! I went thru the same thing thinking I was wrong but after I listen to the earlier records i realized he ain't got it no more at least for this project. He really should just focus on one thing he spreads himself too thin. Releases have been weak. It's not a great record total 5 out of 10. It's no wonder he's touring with godflesh again after this record it's pretty clear he is out of ideas and doesn't know where to go next.
