At the end of the day, Jack is the leader of Torchwood Three. HE is the one that has to make the tough choices, roll the hard six, and do things nobody else wants to do. Sometimes, that means being the bad guy. So this is for all the "Jacks" out there - making the tough calls and doing the right thing, no matter what the cost.

I loved this! I really think this is often overlooked about Jack. He is the leader,and he does have to make hard choices. That's why when Gwen say things like "so you have a heart after all" i want to smack her! You'd think after being the leader herself when Jack was gone she'd have understood more.
But I like how you showed how he hurt over the things he has to do sometimes,because he does hurt when HE has to hurt someone. I see him as a compassionate person,and i think you showed that well.

Oh, this is lovely! People seem to forget about/dismiss Jack's pain and anger and melancholy, when it's what makes him so poignant and compelling. It's nice to see a tribute to that for once.

This is brilliant, and as you said, Jack has to make all the decisions that no one wants to make and as a result he can look like the bad guy.
If you become the leader of anything, you have to be prepared to make those kind of decisions.
