Chicago Stompers with Keith Nichols at Keswick May 2009 with multi-instrumentalist Mauro Porro and vocalist Elena Paganuzzi.
The Chicago Stompers Band is the youngest hot jazz orchestra in Italy playing the hot repertoire of the roaring twenties and thirties. The band has an average age which is in the early twenties having composed of only boys and girls from 15 to 24 years old. The Chicago Stompers J.B. wants to scholarly reproduce the hot atmosphere of the twenties using vintage instruments (like the C-melody saxophone or the percussions, completely reconstructed on the first models: bassdrum, woodblocks, cymbals set up on a spring and a leather cord (!) ) and dressing vintage clothes (tuxedo for men, and stilyshed clothes for women, including some original plumage!).
Well done!!
