Oddly, this was a big hit in 1967 during an era of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The association, etc.

What a voice! A bit sentimental, but beautiful. It reminds me of Be Thou my Vision. The two might even fit together!

This evening I attended a ballroom-dance showcase, where a couple performed a beautiful waltz to this song. I had forgotten until then how much I loved the song, and I have been listening to it over and over for the past hour. I took pictures at the competition, and if I have a good one of that couple -- which I'm sure I will -- I'll try to post a link to it here.

This reminds me of what Alucard from Hellsing would sing like lol <3

I'm not spiritually inclined, but this is indeed one exquisite song of the 60s. Definitely Ed's masterwork, and it has aged beautifully -- unlike "Who Will Answer?", which I still enjoy but on a camp level entirely. How can anyone hear that one without visualizing Ed in a Nehru jacket?

I love this song I bought it on Amazon a couple of years ago I still listen to it Thank You for posting !

I remember watching the Rose Bowl Parade On New Years Day 1967 and Betty White introducing Ed Ames to sing his new song, My cup Runneth Over". My God how the time flies, it seems like only yesterday!

When I first heard this song in 1967 I scoffed at the notion that "in only a moment we both will be old". Now I realize that it really does feel like only a moment.
Reminds me of that birthday scene in "On Golden Pond" when Henry Fonda wonders how to got to the age of 80 so fast.

This is really nice, but I didn't understand the mice in the glass...

@4lauralei Hey, Thanks for the compliment!
The idea of the Hamsters, is to show a cup (glass in this case) running over!
Hope that explains it!
