I will be using one for Ultralight flying across the US. The price is right for the GPSMAP 60 but wasn't sure if I should pay the extra $100 and get the CSX. Do you think I would be able to see the maps better if they were in color? And also the 60 just has internal memory. Any advice? thanks.

This comes with just a weak basemap of the US so you're going to have to buy the detailed street maps if you want that kind of info and to store a large section of the US, you'll need lots of extra memory.

It comes with a useless basemap. You need to buy the maps. Not sure what is available for South America though and if you buy an inland lakes map, not sure if you'll get turn by turn street directions. Call Garmin and they'll tell you. You might have to wait on hold awhile, but they're very good at giving you advice once you get through.

You need City Navigator or something like that to get places of interest and stuff like that.
