  • um you can be petite when your tall too. its about being thin. and if your tall and petite that dosnt atomatically mean your anerexic btw.

  • @6linux8 In the fashion sense, petite means short - 5'4" and below. Just check out any petite section at a department store (and usually, these departments range up to size 14, sometimes even 16. There are also petite plus departments).

  • Petite does not mean short and fat. You can not be petite and fat. please stop trying to redefine the word petite to make fat girls feel good. look up the definition of petite.

  • @JustBenInLA Not true. The commercial fashion definition of petite is 5'4" and below, PERIOD. Many clothing lines and stores have petite-plus divisions (check out Addition Elle or Nordstrom). Fashion designer Jessica Biffi, who is over size 12 considers herself petite.

  • "petite activist"? really?

  • @DragonBunni Why not? Us short girls have more issues than most of you might think!

  • I have a huge problem finding clothes. I am just barely 5'1 and 129lbs. I wear a D-cup and have wide hips, but a very small waist and frame - a typical hourglass. I cannot wear many clothing items because of this. My frame is very small especially across my back, but my chest is very large. If I buy large shirts (which fit my bust) I swim in them, but if I buy small shirts (which fit my frame) I look practically pornographic. When will they make petite clothing that acknowledges I exist?

  • At least you CAN get some things hemmed and tailored.. try creating extra fabric to fix clothes. Tall is much harder to deal with and combine tall and plus size together.. the only places that combination exists in more than a few items are the big and tall men's stores.

  • @katiexrose3243 I manage

  • @katiexrose3243 I know they do. Sometimes the petite section is very limited or sometimes they don't have your size in a short...

  • @Anameleth13 believe me it's out there. I buy some of my riding stuff out of the kids area, so what it still looks the same, jeans can be shortened and many stores now sell short jeans or have a petite section

  • @ObsessionLifestyle Petite people aren't too skinny. Petite means short.

  • @katiexrose3243 It's hard to shop though.

  • @alumnagirl A lot of issues. There are no cute clothing for petite women.

  • @JustBenInLA Not true. I'm short and thin but petite means under 5'4. You look it up. Petite size has nothing to do with weight.

  • @6linux8 In the fashion industry petite has nothing to do with weight. It's height. Under 5'4. Look it up. Type in petite size on Wikipedia and find out for yourself.
