The Original Chuck Wagon Gang, Anna, Rose, Jim, And D.P. (Dad) Carter recorded "We Are Climbing" April 23, 1940 and "Way Up In Glory" April 25, 1951. Thanks to the dedicated work of Harold Timmons in compiling the complete discography of the Chuck Wagon Gang for the 1990 Bob Terrell book "The Chuck Wagon Gang - A Legend Lives On" that I am able to share this information.

  • I can think of no better selection Rev. Jimmy

  • I grew up listening to my Dad's records.Enjoyed Da Listen,Yrral Mallik of Songramp AKA Larry Killam of Facebook group Songwriters Unite 835 members and growing;)

  • Glad you enjoy it, Larry. To me it is memories of visiting my favorite grandparents and listening to the Sunday gospel station in the Missouri bootheel when I was young in the 40s.

  • I had rather listen to the Chuck Wagon Gang than to eat when i'm hungry,5*****s and thank you Mike for sending. I needed this inspiration tonight. Shirley

  • This is the original and still the best! Gospel music now is all about money. This reminds me of my childhood, visiting my great grandparents in Bangs, Texas, when I would play their old 78 records. Thanks for posting this. Love it.

  • we need to sing to God

  • this is the best music

  • where can I get the lyrics to "Way up in glory"? I can't seem to find them anywhere online. Blessings in Christ!

  • Gospel truth and joy sung by decent Christian folk have always spoken to weary and needy human hearts. The world tries to silence the message of forgiveness and resurrection offered by Jesus alone - but it will never silence the power of this solid unchanging truth.
