This would explain the mixed/mulato look of Dorothy Dandridge and Lena Horne who were both both of "black" or African American parents.

Actually Cleopatra was 100% Greek, a scion of the First Ptolemy...one of Alexander the Great's Macedonian Lieutenants who remained in Egypt to secure the Conquest. After Alexander died, his Empire fell apart, and Ptolemy started a Dynasty in Egypt . An Inbred Dynasty culminating in Cleopatra. This is all extremely well documented. Cleopatra was not at all of African Origin.
