  • sweety, cleopatra was BLACK. , but she was an EQYPTIAN QUEEN, and in many parts of africa, like ethiopia italian is the first language. Cleopatra also was not all light like portrayed in "history" pictures she was dark skinned. the person who would best play her would be IMAN! even when they studied her bone sturcture it resembled that of a black woman. history masks truth alot not to give black people praise, to not acknowledge that BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

  • because dorthy was black...america wasnt ready for a black woman

  • @JRF1961 no she wasn't she was African. Greeks was mixed not white

  • Actually all the historical records indicate that Cleopatra was Greek.

  • @xhellonhighheels69x Well you have to remember. Movies often spark debate. And they have since they were first made back in the silent film days. They always will, not matter how retarded they may seem to some ppl.

  • Loosen thy sphincters people! Go on this video to see a pretty lady act, not to have retarded arguements about history.

  • what is the context of this scene?? romantic intimations?

  • @ericlosangeles That is due to black women being raped by white plantation owners and overseers, most blacks have some percentage of white blood forceable infussed into them. This would explain the mixed/mulato look of Dorothy Dandridge and Lena Horne who were both both of "black" or African American parents.

  • dorothy was 100% black her mother and father was both african american her father name was Joe Dandridge and her mother was a black actress. But that doesnt matter so much its more about who she is and what she accompished

  • Anyways. None of my Input correcting the Origins of Cleopatra should be at ALL Misconstrued as any sort of Racial Slam at all. Merely Historical accuraccy for the sake of ENDING these ridiculous Racially Biased Arguments.

With respect to Dorothy Dandridge. WHAT A GODDESS! Who cares if she is Black , Bi-Racial etc ? I thought that the " Content of One's Character " is ALL that mattered anyways. It is disheartening that almost ALL Youtube Post's swiftly degenerate into HATE . Sad !

  • Actually Cleopatra was 100% Greek, a scion of the First Ptolemy...one of Alexander the Great's Macedonian Lieutenants who remained in Egypt to secure the Conquest. After Alexander died, his Empire fell apart, and Ptolemy started a Dynasty in Egypt . An Inbred Dynasty culminating in Cleopatra. This is all extremely well documented. Cleopatra was not at all of African Origin.

Yes. The Africans DID build much of Ancient Egypt. As captured Nubian Slave Labor. Again Well Documented.

  • the ancient coins depicting Cleo make her features appear to be more Greek. And not all that good-looking. Doesn't mean she wasn't of (more immediate) African descent/bloodline; you know- like her granny might have been a Moor?

Frankly... I'm sick of these stupid arguments about racial superiority. Beethoven, Ellington, Euripides, Serling, Callas, Billie: each moves me. LET'S MOVE FORWARD!!! Life is delicious and for the living. Eat. Drink!!!
