The Human Beans

The Mountain Shadows Middle School Destination Imagination team from Nuevo, California perform their skit for their Central Challenge at the DI Regional Tournament in March of 2009. They were performing in the Mid Level Challenge 'C' category : ViDIo Lit Hits. This performance included original music, lyrics, and dancing that was based on the book "The BFG" by Roald Dahl. This team's challenge was to take a piece of literature and format it into a music video style performance. This and their Instant Challenge (which will remain a mystery until after the DI Global Finals in Tennessee in May 2009) earned them FIRST PLACE at the regional competition. They then moved on to compete at the state level in April 2009 where they again took FIRST PLACE. This team is now moving on to the DI Global Finals where they will compete with other teams from around the world! The girls are very excited to have come so far and to have the opportunity to meet other creative thinkers from other countries. The team hales from a small rural town in Southern California and they are very honored to be able to bring pride and recognition to there school and town. The team is in need of financial assistance to be able to get to the Global competition. PLEASE HELP!! Incredible talent! Very impressive - wrote both lyrics AND music AND script AND built the set (with motorized helicopter) AND sewed some of their own costumes!

These young girls deserve lots of kudos and I hope they get all the donations they need.

OH MY GOD. This is honestly a great skit!!!! When you include incredible talent, music (which was quite catchy I might add), a 360 turnable backdrop, customized costumes and of course humor, such as this it's not very surprising you won BOTH the Regional Tournament AND the State tournament but still just as exciting.

Great job, keep it up. AND GOOD LUCK IN THE FINALS!!!! =D
