This is my favorite clip from a movie I think of as a work of genius. I love the repartee between Pasqualino and the young girl. The whole of the movie is a dark examination of irony; no matter what he does to defend his family's honor, he sinks deeper and deeper into a morass. At last, all of his seven sisters are prostitutes nonetheless, earning a good living. The movie is a masterpiece.
