hdr does not change resolution and has nothing to do with it.. Hdr takes images at different exposure values then combines them to make one picture that should look better. Im not going to explain it but just saying you are wrong and trying to show the difference of hdr on vs hdr off by taking a picture of your phone in a dark corner isnt really doing justice.
