20020812 FTW Tandy Subway's Last Days.wmv

The Ft Worth Tandy Subway discontinued service Aug 30th 2002, having been a free service since it's inception by Leonard's Dept Store in 1963 as their M&O Subway, named for brothers Marvin & Obie Leonard. I took these pictures on Aug 12th 2002 just 2-weeks before it ended.

As the Leonard's M&O Subway, it was featured in Interurban Press's VHS Trolley Treasures.
It was also featured in the Zuleka Production's video of the Santa Fe Southern Region Ft Worth Sub.

Tandy #2 was one of the most reliable on the subway. My Friends Carol and John had her out most of the time on Saturdays. She is Brown. Car #6 is a Bright Red and was not out on the day you were there. Car #4 is the Gray Car and the last car overhauled in the carbarn. She is now located in the Leonards museum, along with #1 the Blue car which has been returned to her streamlined Leonards look. #2 and #4 for were out and about while #1 was in the tunnel station. #2 went to Mckinney Avenue.
