I mean, it needs internet connection so it sucks. I might need it outside once a month and I should pay 20 EUR just to find out where I am, no way. I would rather ask a grandma where I am then to play with this like complete idiot.

@chez48 well i donno anymore about 3g but i brought a white 32gb iphone 3gs and i got unlimited internet for a year on pay as you. you will have to pay the one time only charge for the tomtom tho. and atm O2 are doing a pay as you go deal for £15 a month for unlimited texts and unlimited internet.

every iphone comes with unlimited internet for a year so you basscily get a free tomtom for a year or if you want something with more detail then you can get the TomTom app for like 50quid

You either need a wifi connection or be on the 3G network in order for the gps to work with the maps application. If you want to use the gps offline with no wifi and no 3G than the app called xgps will do that but your iphone has to be jailbroken first.

i'm planning to buy a phone, but i dont know which one i should buy. the Iphone 3g or g1? i'm using T-mobile service and i dont know if i could use the internet on iphone 3g?

You can use the iPhone 3G on T-Mobile it's jailbroken. But you can't utilize the T-Mobile 3G network with the iPhone as the iPhone's 3G bands (rather AT&T 3G bands) are different bands from T-Mobile 3G.
