I love Hawaii and the culture and history of hawaiian people.

That`s the reason I posted HAWAII 1987 INTERVIEW on Youtube.

  • after a few glasses of vino... well i see everything this woman is saying and i totally agree... absolutely... its amazing the words this woman puts forward its completely reflects my connection to the nature as a native american.. half a world away her words hold some resonance

  • @okesaita yep...they took over. fucken shame.

  • I'm happy to see a REAL Hawaiian on here explaining the roots of her culture. Unfortunately, too many asians have invaded Hawaii (Japanese, Filipinos, Koreans, etc.). Just stating a fact. Not trying to offend anyone.

  • They are the caretakers of the chants and hula of Pele. Not all of us turned our back on the old religion. The religion is connected to the land, and she is merely stating that we need to coexist with the elements. Our entire culture was based on religious functions. Without the religion, the culture will not remain pure. The Samoans still tattoo and do traditional dances, so are you stuck in the past? If we are too westernized, then are we really Polynesian?

  • Sheʻs not living in the past but synthesizing it with the modern times. Due to her grandmother, the Hawaiian language has been revived, and is the only indigenous tongue in the U.S. where you can get doctorateʻs in Hawaiian. Their family help bring back the hula, and serve as a guide to many other indigenous cultures in reviving their language. Her family are also the high priest and priestesses of Pelehonuamea.

  • eh, many of you are probably not even Hawaiian but posing as Hawaiians and looking as if to "believe" this!! it's nice that she is following her roots and TRYING to connect her "almost lost" culture with today but honestly...

  • .you've got to seriously open up your eyes to the NOW present time, and not stay stuck in the past. we all know that regardless, the Earth and its environments are going to bring forth vegetation. i love the Hawaiian culture, dont get wrong! mostly because they are Polynesian just like us...

  • Samoans and share similar aspects that we share as Polynesians in common! But if your not Hawaiian, than dont bother going around as if you believe this stuff because you probably dnt even know any of it...and its OBVIOUS!!! Fa'afekai lava, ko' e fei loa'i ma manuia lau malana! oh and E' manaia kele o' lou siva Savai'i aua o' le lue ole ulu male se'e se'e malie!!

  • this is my friends cousin.. :)

  • Culture preserved in HAWAI`I
