Peanuts creator Charles Schulz's appearance on the long running morning program on ABC in May of 1987, to promote a latest (at the time) collection of his strips entitled "Dogs Don't Eat Dessert." Later that day, Schulz was to be inducted into the Cartoonists Hall Of Fame. A young(er) Charles Gibson asks the questions, as Schulz waxes about his craft. The master cartoonist, who drew Peanuts for almost 50 years, died in 2000. He is missed.

  • It was 12 years ago today that we lost Mr. Schulz, you were a great man and we'll always miss you. Thank you for your great comics and specials that we will enjoy forever. You're a good man Charles Schulz.

  • Peppermint Patty was my favorite, always hitting on "Chuck"! :)

  • @Fosfore. you can research him via Google or Wikipedia. (ABC is one of the original three major television networks in the US.)

  • @wttwmusic That does not tell me much, sorry. I am Belgian and we only get the CNN here.

  • @Fosfore. the interviewer is Charles "Charlie" Gibson, formerly of the ABC television network.

  • Funy that creator no idey why his character do some think

  • I feel so emotional watching this... This comic is so important to me, so inspiring in my daily life... I remember when I heard Mr. Schulz died, I felt terribly sad. He's one of those people I wish I could have met to say 'Thank you for your work'. Also, I love this interview. The interviewer seems so nice and full of respect, we do not get to see such interviews nowadays...

  • "Can love go unrequited for *so* many years?"

    "I'm an authority."

    Good ol' Charles Schulz...

  • He is awesome. I would lost without peanuts. I love charlie brown. He's such a cute little boy.
