Wow, talk about ignorance. I do understand your point but they can learn social networking at home. It's not a topic for school. And you are unaware about just how much bandwidth it takes up. Especially when everyone's using it.

Then let them learn in their own time at home, not at school where they're meant to be learning more useful things. And Facebook *does* use a large amount of bandwidth as they overload the site with 'features' and it's the only site that's sluggish on my phone. It also keeps falling apart with "Oops" errors. And it's packed with images and video and applications, which also uses a lot of bandwidth.

False. A lot of good can com from social networking to organise events and share interests. Facebook does not use a large amount of bandwidth as it is mostly just text and images. More bandwidth is used playing this video than over an hours use of facebook. And if kids don't get taught, what else is there to do!

Kids shouldn't have Facebook in school as they're meant to be learning there. Workplaces mostly ban it, although I can understand in a way as it would slow the network down considerably if they didn't.

I find it horrible when your school becomes involved in something and tries to shut it down for no reason.
