Governor Bobby Jindal is marking his first year in office by outlining his goals for this year.

Jindal spoke to reporters in Reserve, La, after participating in the grand opening of a National Guard readiness center.

"This readiness center is in a perfect location in that it is close to the areas that could be hit by a storm, but it is still likely to be out of harm's way," Jindal said of the new facility and its place in the state's hurricane plans.

Jindal went on to talk about improving coastal restoration results in his second year in office. He also spoke about withdrawing the National Guard from crime fighting patrols in New Orleans as soon as the NOPD reaches its recruiting goals. "We're confident they'll meet their targets to be self sufficient, to be able to stand on their own, by the end of February."

Jindal talked about developing a good relationship with the Obama administration and reducing red tape for reconstruction projects.

He also talked about his veto last year of the lawmaker payraise bill. Many lawmakers felt Jindal burned them when he changed his mind after promising he would let the bill become law. But the governor doubts there will be enough lingering frustration that would hurt his plans for his second year in office.

"Our legislators know as we work on behalf of the people, everybody wins. It is not about democrat republican, it's not about house senate, it's not about legislature administration. It's about moving our state forward," Jindal said.

  • Not all Republicans are rednecks, just to let you know.

  • Did you watch the video? He's increasing education funding and starting programs to keep at-risk students in school, thus PREVENTING unemployment.

Also, just because he didn't take money from the stimulus, doesn't mean the unemployed people of Louisiana won't be getting their benefits. If Louisiana can afford to pay out the benefits on their own without federal aid, then more power to them.

  • How am I despirate. They all have experience. Palin, Limbaugh and Jindal are not the answer. I never even mentioned Joe the Plumber lol.

Also we don't need Obama change. We need our government to be straightened out. We need to iron out the corrupt politicians and get some real politicians in. I am sorry but Obama, Pelosi, and all these people ruin this country. We don't need socialism.

  • Huchabe???? You are naive...Romney??? He had to finance his OWN campaign. Your "experience" is old, tired and as I said, DEAD. The party of no change. Palin was not a gamble it was a gimmick. like Steele, "Joe the Plumber" (My GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) now Limbaugh??????

You are lost, drowned, unrecoverable. A laughable muse,. Pitiful and remarkably desperate...

  • Well I can say I am neither of those and am in a North East state. The party is not dead. We still have plenty of leaders but people cannot look infront of them. I mean we got Huckabee, Romney and others. The Republicans are looking for our Obama, but I'll be honest, that is not what we need. We should keep using experience like we have in past years. The gamble on Palin failed and it should have been McCain/Romney. That would have been much better and would have earned more votes.

  • Well maybe, but 90% of red states are in the South where ignorance, racism, religious nuts, inbreeding, scientific stagnance, obesity, low esteem, beastiality, incest, and non-progressiveness prevail. The rest is the West/ N. west where the population is primarily game, not humans...

    The party is dead.

The last election was a comic book with the GOP, Palin And Mc... something...

  • Foster puppet or Foster parent? You coudn't possibly have meand Foster child?

  • Anyone with a computer can spec such racism. God help you....I don't think that I can or anyone else here can.

  • Take your racist comments and put them somewhere so that you do not have to be stumbled across.

  • I agree he is also a Foster puppet. Foster is running La. behind the seans. Pyish Jindal is running around the country running for president so his puppet master Foster can run the country. This guy is a phoney. I cant vote for anyone who will stoop to changing his name because he is ashamed to admit what his nationality really is, while joining in with the REnaZicAn Party in making sonething out of Barock Obamas name. At least Barock had the balls to use his given name. Piysh cant win anyway.

  • U Fucking Porch Hick Ass Hole go back to your good job at walmart--no benefits no hospital care no education--no nothing and like it that way.
