Is golden sun ds a remake of the first one or does it have a different story?

If you loved the first one, you'll be pleasantly surprised by Golden Sun: The Lost Age. It retains the gameplay of Golden Sun, but spices up the story significantly, and improves the pacing of the game. As fun as I've had with Golden Sun, I must say that Golden Sun: The Lost Age stands superior.
Due to the age of the game, I think you will have difficulties finding it in the stores. You could try amazon.com or similar sites -- or simply download an emulator and play it on the PC.

Yeah you're probably right. Most probably new ways to get the summons, but we'll never know till they release it.

Obviously a new one. I mean in GS1 They had the normal 16 and then they added the summoning tablets. They've probably added new tablets or new ways to get the summons.
