  • Those are actually red-belly pacus (Piaractus brachypomum). They're traditionally herbavores, but WILL eat small fish.

  • I couldn't fit the entire comment. I had pacus that grew to 23" on pellet food - yours will do the same only much faster with fish. It's fine to feed them live food, but when they out-grow the aquarium, it's no fun netting fish the size of medium pizzas and the weight cats while they're splashing gallons of water all over the walls and floor. This happened to me and I suppose it's a little funny after the mess is cleaned up! :)

  • Soo cruel! :O

  • @takedwnzerx - I had two of these fish grow to 23" in two years; they can grow to 35" and weigh 55 lbs. Most of these fish get returned to a pet store when they become too big; and, they're skittish and get damaged faces from darting into the glass and other objects. YES, they can out-grow an aquarium; yes, I know what I'm talking about; and, yes, you need an education in both South American fish and in correctly writing the English language! You're the fool! :D

  • they wont out-grown an aquarium unless the tanks to small and that tanks looks fine

  • i got piranha and you have no clue what you talking about....

  • @classiclistener01 your a fool

  • @GeneralHoohah it's the fucking food chain. deal with it.

  • @GeneralHoohah calm down ingrid newkirk animals eat other animals everyday thats just the way of life also wat else are u gonna feed a pet piranha vegetables

lastly no one is gonna take u seriously with a name like generalhoohah that sounds like a redneck soldier from the civil war

  • when the goldfish was trying to swim away i was like this:

RUN FISHY! RUN FOR YOUR LUYF!

  • my dad use to have these piranha fish .. about 6-7 of them.. somehow it looks like animal cruelty.. but in the matter of fact this is simply the food chain of nature.. put it this way nature provides food for mice, wild cats and other animals eat mice, cats and other small animals gets eaten by wild dogs and other bigger animals and so on.. like.. were smarter than the cow and the chicken.. so we eat them.. food chain of nature .. there we go.
