One of the biggest problems I see with bad Facebook Pages is inconsistency. Posting inconsistently is a killer. You need to remain fresh in people's minds by posting every day. Most people ask, "Won't I annoy my fans if I post regularly?" And my response is always, "Not if you are giving them value." Posting consistently takes planning and effort but it is so rewarding.
2. Bad content:
he strength of your social media marketing is offering value. If you are offering nothing of value then no one will care. If the content sucks then no one will 'like' your page or stick around. Always focus on giving your fans content that is rich in value. Give them what they actually want -- not what you think they want. Resolve to always give them content that solves their problems/needs.
3. Cross Posting:
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. You can link your social networks so that they all automatically update whenever you post on one. This may save you some time but it's not necessarily a good thing. One of the worst things is to see a hash tag (#) on a Facebook post. This gives your customers the impression that your posts aren't targeted and that there is a certain level of laziness and even appear unprofessional. Don't link your social networks. Post individually. It may take longer but it will be worth it.
4. Not using images:
Facebook is notoriously hard to get engagement from. It has an algorithm called Edge Rank which determines how high your posts go in the your fans' news feeds. Different things score better than others.
The best thing is photos.
2nd best is links.
3rd is plain statuses.
