Janet - A deafblind woman who's learning english

Janet lives on her own in Greater Manchester. She is deafblind and this causes some mobility problems. The involvement of Sense, the leading UK deafblind charity, over several years has helped Janet to live more independently and introduced her to a range of assistive technology suited to her needs. She has studied aromatherapy, Indian head massage and Reflexology, to name a few. She communicates using a form of 'hands on' sign language. She utilizes her team of support workers for day to day things like dealing with the post, going to the bank, and interpreting in shops. Thanks to her support workers Janet can lead an independent life, she can cook, give massage, study and do the shopping.
