I don't understand what is she doing wrong? This is the same way my daughters speech therapist is.

I would like to make a suggestion for anyone that views this, if your childs assessments go anything like this Please seek another assessor. I don't believe that this assessment would work on anyone, even NTs. She did not try to engage with him, her voice was so unnatural and one of the worse things you can do is get right up in someones face to force eye contact. All my DD's assessments were play based with toys, even though my DD is dx'd with autism and dyspraxia, they were fun and productive.

she has no idea shes just a pen pusher that child is so lovely his so cute how can she do that job when she doesnt understand how to relate to a child she says come with me yet she sits and just looks at the kid she needs to be taught a lot better than that

My twins are exactly the same, they are 30 months. I can't wait to see your other video's!

garden73- this appears to be an assessment. She isn't attempting to work with him - she's evaluating how he responds to requests, questions and commands. This data will be useful in determining an appropriate course for treatment

We cant ask a textbook what certain behavior means and expect more relevance than asking first ourselves.

This lady is not seeming to understand human behavior. These kids are smart they just need to be interacted with on a different level! Who gave her this job? Just doing a course for this sort of work doesnt mean youre the right person. Where is the understanding, people? We all need to interact on an understanding level.
pitiful technique. Who is this person, what are her credentials and what agency does she represent? I only ask so that I can be sure that I never refer a patient to her/them.

@Amanda9993 She is a student. I had signed him up for a speech screening. Autism was not what she was being trained for. I understand your concerns, but please know that I actually took him to Kansas City Regional Center for diagnosis. Thanks for your comment.
