  • LOL at the pepe part of this video! That song gets it poppin every time! PEPE PEPE.... veo veo veo veo veo LOL xD

  • This video is still one of my favorites lol!

  • Yeah I heard that many of them mixed in with white immigrants that came along! Yeah it is interesting and ironic to see because the movements of West Indians into all of Latin America for labor and construction and work projects was happening at the same exact time and periods!

  • I don't know what happened to the Wikipedia entry on Jamaican Brazilians. Speaking of Jamaica Brazilians, Adriana Lima is rumored to have some Jamaican ancestry.

  • Yes, many of them reside in Porto Velho and other nearby boroughs. Most of them reside in the state of Amazonas. They began migrating to the Amazonas around early twentieth century, there already might be fifth-generation Bajan Brazilians, and maybe even sixth generation. However, I'm sure the vast majority of these descendants are no longer of full Caribbean background.

  • Oh okay! Interesting! Because what happened to the Jamaican Brazilians?? There was an entry on Wikipedia about Jamaican Brazilians but I have not seen it in a while!

Is the Jamaican descendant community in Brazil large or any significant??

Also most of the Brazilians of Antillean descent live in a city/town called Porto Vehlo right? Cuz many came for labor projects and work!

  • Right, but I'm not going to bother with marking Other and emphasizing my Brazilian background.

  • It goes as the following order:

Bajan Brazilians, Grenadian Brazilians, Ivorian Brazilians, Cape Verdean Brazilians, Mozambican Brazilians, Angolan Brazilians, Ivorian Brazilians, and Nigerian Brazilians.

The Haitian in community in Brazil is minute, but will begin growing bigger soon, since the Brazilian government is granting asylum to many Haitians, due to earthquake they suffered.

  • What are the largest black ethnic groups in Brazil after native Afro Brazilians! I heard Jamaican and Barbadian/Bajan Brazilians were significant as well as Haitian Brazilians??!

  • Oh okay lol! But you know you can put on the census Black/African American/Negro and then in the other box you can put BRAZILIAN or you can even put Brazilian in the OTHER box!
