I couldn't rememer that it was Melba that sang this beautiful song! So glad it finally came to me. For the person who asked, Melba alleged many years ago that her husband took all of her money and left her (and I believe her daughter) to depend on public assistance while he took up with his new love Micheal Michele who was/is an actress. You may remember her as Wesley Snipes' main girlfriend in "New Jack City". I remember Melba on the radio telling this story a long time ago.
