''Qawali'', an old Indian term for ''Kabuli'', in Iran used to designate gypsies (Jats), which does not mean that Kabulian are gypsies but that the Jats in Iran are from the Kabul-valley. Qawali is one of the most beautiful Xurasanian cultural aspect that was invented in the larger Persian region of Iran, Xurasan, Baghdad. It highest peack it reached in Xurasan and India when native Heratis, Nishapuris Kabulians, Balkhis, Deqanis (Kandaharis), Sistanis, Samarqandis, Bukharis etc. (Persian Tajiks and Eastern-Aryan Tajiks) took their culture to India and served their as teachers, masters, artists, musicians, scholars etc. in the royal courts. Qawali was always a ''Zoroastrian'' Xurasanian door to the deepest point of feeling. It bring peace and satisfaction to ones live. Enjoy this video. An European try himself on Qawali.

  • Wonderful!

This is really great work not on the qawali only but also on its root and history.

    Sepas!

  • There are no KABUL VALLEY JATS - the JATS are ppl of India - & clearly distinguishable from people of Kabul Valley by their super dark skin. In Iran Qawali may refer to gypsies - but they also use KOOCHi to denote gypsies/nomads - & that it is not connected to the ppl of Kabul Valley.

  • Hey man - great info - can you tell me where you got the info about Deqanis - the name of Tajikan of Kandahar..... thanks.

Indeed - 800+ years Khurasanian culture ruled Hindustan - it also ruled Central Asia - but the British came fro south and Russians from north & replaced that previous order with tribal entities - & removed Khurasani language from most of it - English in the south and Russian in the north.
