  • @midniteOG never heard that bro. cats are supposed to last the length of the vehicle. its illegal to change a new cat out for another one. the old cat has to have at least 50k miles on it to even consider changing it. but yeah it wont hurt any changing it bro.

  • @aaminjoshi91 thanks for the info.. i hear your supposed to change the cats every 80k or so.. and im running 100k on mine... who knows.. probably do a swap, o2 sensors and what not to improve mpg

  • @midniteOG yeah those y pipes are pretty bad. and yeah our stock cats are actually really good. as high flow as it gets. but those smaller cats give you more volume from your exhaust. so you don't really need a high flow cat but it'll give you volume. shorty headers aren't to bad either but again our stock manifolds are pretty solid.

  • @aaminjoshi91

thanks for the info... my next plan is to get the y-pipe, which i hear is the most restricting part of the exhaust, and then a high flow cat. after that, who knows???

  • @midniteOG straight pipes on a 4.7l sound so horrible bro. don't do it man. get a high flow cat. one of them small straight through magnaflow kind and a single chamber muffler. thats loud and has some tone to it.

  • @daBlade80 nice man, i have the 4.7 v8 in my truck, not as BA as the 5.2 or 5.9, but still a great motor. sounds like you have a good plan with yours...

  • @midniteOG straight pipes sound wicked. I that a 5.9 or the 5.2? Me and a buddy of mine both have 5.2s and he went full straight pipes and it sounds nasty. I'm thinking of doing it this summer as well, take a cheap cat and a cheap stainless muffler and cut them in half, clean them out, and weld them over top of the straight pipes so it still looks legal. My buddy just went plain old straight pipes and pays a guy 50 dollars a year to inspect it and say it's all legal ;-)

  • @midniteOG it is pretty bad ass man. i got my vids if you ever needa reference then haha!

  • @aaminjoshi91 ya? thats awesome!

  • @midniteOG my super 10 and high flow cat sound like straight pipe almost. i got a 4.7l as well. they sound bad ass man!
